This is the 13th year in which local Conservative Associations have put teams together to compete for the Association Trophy. Winchester Conservatives won in 2011, but their team of David Robinson, Keith Hall, John Clarke and Colin Harris weren’t strong enough to defend the trophy against North West Hampshire. NWHCA’s team, Dave Eddy (photo right), Mick Hext, Ken Rhatigan (receiving the trophy from Sir George Young) and Simon Boyd also shot the highest stableford score to win first prize (124 points). The other prizes were won by non-associated teams. Second prize, went to Brian Osborne’s team (121), consisting of his son Michael, Mick Banks and Phil Hall. Third prize went to Roger Darby, Mirtza Datoo, Brian Bosley and Gerald Lambert (104). Ken Rhatigan gave the victor’s address in which he especially thanked the Tidworth Club for its excellent course presentation and Steve Wheeldon’s superb lunch.
