Unemployment has fallen once again in North West Hampshire. The total number of unemployed claimants in the North West Hampshire constituency now stands at 367. 60 lower than in November 2014 and 10 lower than in October this year.
Local MP, Kit Malthouse said: "The strong economy that this Conservative Government is delivering doesn’t just mean GDP figures and abstract statistics. It means real people finding the work they so badly want and families earning the security of a pay packet at the end of the month. We’re seeing this in the constituency.
This means that only 0.7% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64 are claiming. This makes us 620th highest of the 650 Parliamentary constituencies in the UK. This is a feat to be proud of. Across the UK as a whole, the rate is 2.4%.
I’m hopeful for more good news in the coming year. The economy is growing, unemployment is shrinking, wages are rising and inflation is on the floor. We’re going to keep building on these foundations so families can get on with their lives and so we can afford public services to be proud of."
